ABSTRACT

The steady downward trend in children's health indicators in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic makes it necessary to search for new approaches to raising a healthy child in a preschool institution and family. The present study attempts to identify the level of manifestation of the voluntary behavior of senior preschoolers in motor activity as the basis for the growth of personal health potential. To meet that aim, the methods of mathematical statistics, especially Wilcoxon's t-test, are utilized. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the issue of developing the personal health potential in preschoolers, the manifestation of voluntariness, purposefulness, and independence in motor activity remains relevant. Assessment of voluntariness in motor activity demonstrates issues in nearly half of the children. Hence, the need to seek new pedagogical technologies, forms, methods, and means of developing the personal health potential of children seems crucial. © 2022, Centro Universitario Curitiba - UNICURITIBA. ABSTRACT

Objective of the study was to analyze the elementary school students’ motor activity in the distance learning period using an online questionnaire survey. Methods and structure of the study. The elementary school students’ motor activity in the distance learning period profiling online questionnaire survey was run using a special interactive questionnaire form of our own design including open and confidential questions. We sampled for the study the elementary school students’ families (n=343) from Lyceum No. 32 and Secondary Schools No. 7, 17, 33, 35, 36, 42 and 50 in Belgorod city. The online questionnaire survey was intended to profile the opinions of elementary school students’ families on their children’s actual motor activity, leisure-time preferences, family roles in the motor activity control and the actual elementary school students’ progress needs. Results and conclusion. The online questionnaire survey data of elementary school students families and analysis geared to profile the motor activity preferences and family roles in the children’s motor activity control found that in the digital distance learning period during the COVID-19 pandemic the elementary school students tend to neglect the healthy time limitations for home works at computer – partially due to the children being overloaded by educational tasks and, hence, doomed for motor inactivity in limited spaces. The survey data and analyses demonstrate the need for special efforts to efficiently encourage, control and manage the elementary school students’ motor activity in the distance learning period. © 2021, Teoriya i praktika fizicheskoy kul'tury i sporta. ABSTRACT

Objective of the study was to analyze the preschoolers’ values system and role of physical activity in the values system. Methods and structure of the study. We sampled for the study run in September-November 2020 the 5-7 year-old preschoolers (n= 679) from the Belgorod, Samara and Tomsk Oblasts and Krasnodar Territory. The values system of the sample was surveyed by the L.N. Voloshina “Want to be healthy?" questionnaire survey. Results and conclusion. Our questionnaire survey found the children being well aware of the role of healthy lifestyle for wellbeing. Ranked on top was healthy diet as a basis for good health, and ranked second was the physical activity (versus the 2010 questionnaire survey when it was ranked the third). The medicine-assisted health model – viewed as the need for therapy and visits to a doctor – was ranks only third in 2020 versus the first place in 2010. Due hygiene and healthy lifestyle (including habitual walking, daily regimen, immunity to bad habits, aerobic activity, water drinking etc.) was ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. It may be due to the COVID-19 pandemic that the questionnaire survey found new health ideas like "wear a face mask" and "stay home" ranked 8th and 17th among the health factors. The questionnaire survey data analysis showed that healthy socio-cultural environment with due emphasis on the cultural and transformative aspects of the teaching service at preschool educational establishment facilitates the healthy values system with due physical activity elements formation efforts. © 2021, Teoriya i praktika fizicheskoy kul'tury i sporta.
